No, the LRC does not provide legal advice or representation in reference to matters discussed during the intake. We act as a referral service, meaning that our team, after your intake session, will help connect you with an attorney, legal organization or other related resources that can help you legally in resolving your issue. 

The first step is to schedule an appointment with the LRC through the Calendly link or walk in to our office during office hours. At the start of your appointment, you will be asked to review and complete an intake form to attest your understanding of the LRC’s function. A member of the LRC staff will then listen and take notes to your legal question to provide you with appropriate resources (organizations and services) that could help you. These resources will then be compiled into a list and sent to you via email. 

The LRC’s Intake Form functions both as a reconfirmation of your understanding of our function and as a tool for the LRC staff to track conversations and details shared by you to assist in providing the most appropriate referrals. 

We update the SFSU community about LRC’s upcoming events and workshops mainly through our instagram page @as_lrc_sfsu. We do class presentations, tabling events and campus canvassing to widen our reach to the campus community.
